The illustration, located just inside the exhibit’s main entrance, depicts the various scales trains are reproduced in, ranging from 1:160 (the smallest scale) to a full size rendition – approximately 16 feet tall!. The art was carefully crafted with an eye towards realism while maintaining a minimalist, slightly retro illustrative quality and styling. Coordinating with the design team, the illustration’s background color was selected to work together with neighboring wall colors and the overall exhibit color palette.

The exhibit itself showcases a magnificent collection of meticulously crafted trains and models that present a nostalgic view of the Lackawanna Railroad as it was in 1952.
