Built in 1872, Central Synagogue is the oldest Synagogue in continuous use in
New York State. Both a New York and National Historic Landmark, it was severely damaged by fire in 1998. The congregation's determination to rebuild led to the Synagogue's remarkable restoration and reconsecration on September 9, 2001.
In designing the signage,
I developed a family of signs that would compliment the Synangogues spectacular Moorish style and ornate woodwork.
Completed while at 212 Associates.
